A lot of people ask me for information about going to burning man with Celiac disease. I thought I’d open a topic for people to comment on to add to things. What I’ve found? Well, first off there’s nothing like a digestive issue to make the advice about bringing extra 1-ply toilet tissue with you. Second, LARA bars are awesome, but they require a lot more water to eat if you’re in the middle of a desert than they do generally. Also, tasty bites are a godsend, but not all of them are gluten free. Other than that, I think the most important piece of information is BRING A CUP AND OTHER EATING THINGS WITH YOU. Don’t rely on other people to have cleaned anything sufficiently. I always carry a flexible cup with me when I’m at camping events so I don’t get someone’s beer leftovers in my drink. Similarly for plates and utensils, but those are harder to manage. |

That’s fine for burning man, but how about things like the Oregon Country Fair? I have celiac disease and I’m going there for the first time this year. Can you ask for me? |
